Engagement map

A clear path from first conversation to a finished strategy, review, or readiness call—designed for how consulting work actually unfolds.

Desk with signed papers and a fountain pen

StoneCore consultations follow a short, repeatable map. Stages below describe the flagship Test Strategy Engagement; suite reviews and readiness assessments compress the same arc.

  1. Enquiry & fit check

You describe the release pressure, products in scope, and who owns the decision. We confirm whether a consultation is the right shape—or whether you need implementation capacity we do not sell.

  2. Scoped proposal

A written brief covers duration, workshops, artefacts, fee, and exclusions. No work starts until both sides accept the scope.

  3. Access & kick-off

Read-only repository and CI access, a stakeholder list, and the last meaningful incident notes. Kick-off locks the calendar for workshops.

  4. Discovery

Workshops and artefact review. We challenge assumptions gently but on the record, especially where “green builds” have replaced judgement.

  5. Draft & revision

You receive a draft strategy or findings pack. One structured revision cycle is included so owners can correct factual gaps.

  6. Hand-off

Final document, backlog ordering, and a walkthrough. Optional retainer hours can follow if you want a standing review slot.

What we need from you

Honest release dates, someone who can explain the last production defect class, and permission to say “stop” when evidence is missing. We do not need a perfect backlog—only enough access to avoid guessing.
